Sloss Fest / Trim Trab Collab
Year 1 of Sloss Music & Arts Festival was officially a HUGE success!First, we got together with our new friends at Trim Tab Brewing and their Brewmaster, Will Crenshaw, back in Crozet to brew a special collaboration beer for the festival: Siren of Sloss. We had one main goal for this beer: drinkable in the heat! So the crew went to craft a summer pale ale, single-hopped with Calypso, a new American variety that adds a pleasant fruity aroma with hints of pear and apple. We also added some honey and our witbier yeast, which we also use in Soul Shine Summer Pale Ale. All of these combine to create a sessionable, yet complex summer beer that was a big hit at the festival. With this tasty beer in tow, it was time to hit the road down to Birmingham for the festival in mid-July. We had an absolute blast hanging at the Starr Hill All Access tent and meeting new friends, like the great guys at Bham Beer Buzz! We were even fortunate to feature a pop-up performance by Muddy Magnolias at our tent where they even guest bartended with us! A huge thanks to Trim Tab, Sloss, and all of the fine folks down in Alabama who made our trip so much fun. Use our Beer Finder to find the Siren of Sloss near you! Here's some more shots of our great times during the fest, plus some of our favorite performances from Band of Horses, Lord Huron, and St. Paul & the Broken Bones. Don't forget to check out our Sloss Mix to listen to more great music from the festival.
