The Jazz Connection is a cohort of local jazz musicians. The lineup includes Victor Lee on saxophone, Dan Sebring on bass, David Weiss on piano, and Monte Parsons on drums.
Victor Lee has played with local jazz musicians in the Charlottesville area since 1996, and has been a member of several bands over the years, including most recently Freight Paid, Second Opinion, Soul Transit Authority, and Knock on Wood. Dan Sebring is a long time Charlottesville resident and has played with many area bands including The Casuals featuring Johnny Sportcoat, The Stoned Wheat Things, The Hogwaller Ramblers, and Borderline, to name a few. His present projects include Susan Munson’s ‘Mojo Pie’, Two Wishes Trio, and Plum Blossom Special. Although a multi-instrumentalist, he is currently playing acoustic and electric bass with Jazz Connection. David Weiss started his piano playing career in New York City, but has recently played with the Jazz Collective and his own trio, “Jazz 1-2-3”. The line-up is rounded out with Monte Parsons on the drums. Monte has most recently been the drummer for the Jazz Collective, a group that held a regular restaurant gig for 11 straight years.
The Jazz Connection brings a repertoire of jazz standards, blues, Latin-inspired, and funk-driven tunes that are sure to have you tapping your feet and swaying along with the band.
