Starr Hill Brewery was founded out of a shared passion for great beer and live music. We want nothing more than to enhance the lives of others by providing quality beverages alongside any concert or event. Our beer can be found in virtually every music venue in the state of Virginia. Next time you’re listening to some great music, grab a Starr Hill brew – it was made for it.
Our brewery’s original space was shared with the Starr Hill Music Hall, a club in the Starr Hill neighborhood of downtown Charlottesville whose stage showcased the likes of John Mayer, Kenny Chesney, My Morning Jacket, The Avett Brothers, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, Dierks Bentley, and Neko Case. While the venue closed in 2007, Starr Hill Brewery still carries on that deep connection to music to this day.
Starr Hill began brewing beer at the same time as when summer music festivals in US were just getting started. We were showing off our beers at the original Bonnaroo and FloydFest during their first year in 2002. Just like with craft beer, music festivals have grown and expanded to the wide-ranging styles and locations today. Catch us at DelFest, FloydFest, Sloss Fest, and LOCKN’ each summer or here in Charlottesville each week at Fridays After Five.
Nothing pairs better with your pint of beer than great live music. We showcase great local music almost every week in our Tap Room, including our Live & Local songwriters series and the Central VA Blues Acoustic Jam. Check out our Tap Room Calendar for upcoming shows!
