Bottles MUST be received between April 3rd, 2017 and April 14th, 2017. Bottles received after the submission deadline will not be judged. Entries will be judged the week of April 17th, 2017. Top 25 entries will be contacted and announced shortly thereafter.
Starr Hill® Brewery, LLC (“Starr Hill”), will judge up to 100 entries into the IPA JAMBEEREE Homebrew Competition. Entries received after the entry limit cap (100 entries) is reached will not be judged, and bottles will not be returned. An update will be posted as we near the total number of submissions. Each Contestant may enter only one (1) submission.
There is a $10 (ten dollar) entry fee per submission. Proceeds, if any, will be used to support homebrewing associations.
Judging will be done in accordance with 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines. As IPA JAMBEEREE celebrates the iconic India Pale Ale style, submissions WILL ONLY be accepted in the following categories:
12C (English IPA)
21A (American IPA)
21B (Specialty IPA)
22A (Double IPA)
No mead or cider will be accepted. Click here for Style Guidelines.
Beer Scoresheets will be returned for all judged entries. Please visit the BJCP website for more information on the style guidelines and copies of the scoresheet.
Beers will be judged in a “Brewer Round” format. Each Brewer Round will result in a “Best In Round” winning entry. Additionally, Starr Hill judges will choose a “Best In Show” winning entry, selected from amongst all entries (not necessarily the Best Of Round winners).
All entrants agree to assign any necessary intellectual property associated with a winning entry for the purpose of re-brewing their recipe. See below for more details. Entrants are required to provide the names of all individuals involved in developing and/or brewing the recipe entered. All entrants must ensure that they homebrew in accordance with the laws and regulations of their location.
All decisions by Starr Hill will be final. Starr Hill reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, if an entry is not of sufficient quality to be worthy of a prize.
