      Starr Hill Brewery is a Mid-Atlantic regional brewery with distribution in nine states. Founded in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1999, Starr Hill is one of Virginia’s oldest and largest independent craft breweries. In 2006, Starr Hill relocated production to the small town of Crozet, VA, just 14 miles west of Charlottesville, nestled at the base of Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

      Starr Hill is seeking a highly motivated and hard-working packaging tech to join our team at the Crozet production facility. The position is full-time. Starr Hill is committed to developing team members in all facets of packaging and maintaining a strong team focus in a fast paced work environment.

    Sales Team

    • Virginia Sales Marketing Coordinator

      Primary Job Responsibilities

      • Manage the Virginia Brand Ambassador Program including hiring, training, scheduling, communication and follow-up
      • Represent Starr Hill at all significant Virginia craft beer events including, but not limited to, tap takeovers, tastings and beer dinners
      • Represent Starr Hill at all key Virginia craft beer festivals
      • Manage the Virginia Local Events Google Calendar with all Relevant Information Including Featured Beers
      • Collaborate with Starr Hill Management on local sponsorship and special event opportunities and execution
      • Retail coverage for Select Accounts in Virginia to be Determined by the Virginia Market Manager and VP of Sales
      • Participate in Sales Crew Drives in all Markets while Assisting the local sales reps with the planning, coordination and tracking of those crew drives
      • Communicate feedback from sampling events, beer festivals and the tap room to senior manager on brand, package and programming effectiveness
      • Assist the Tap Room Manager with the training of the tap room staff. Assist in the communication of monthly and seasonal brand priorities to the tap room staff
      • Act as a Liaison for retailer and distributor visits to the brewery. Organize, plan and communicate all visit details. Follow up with the parties to evaluate strengths and weaknesses for each visit
      • Monitor Brand Image in the Retail Trade to Ensure consistency throughout the market and at all key event
      • Complete necessary and required reports with timeliness and accuracy
      • Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all activities are conducted within local, state and federal laws

      Job Requirements

      • Passion for Craft Beer
      • Minimum of 2 years experience selling craft beer in either the supplier or wholesaler channel
      • Outgoing personality interested in representing Starr Hill at all significant Virginia craft beer events
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative team environment
      • Must live within close proximity to the Charlottesville, Virginia Market
      • Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight constraints and still meet all deadlines

      • Transition into retail account coverage over a to be determined period of time where this position will be responsible for direct sales coverage over a select number of accounts

    • Sales Representative: Philadelphia

      Primary Job Responsibilities
      • Work with Management to develop and adhere to an aggressive call frequency on key existing and new retailers in the Philadelphia market
      • Utilize this aggressive retail call frequency, as well as data from in-house systems, to identify sales opportunities
      • Maintain a Key Accounts list across area of accountability (on & off-premise) and track performance by updating monthly. Use this list as a planning tool prior to and during market visits
      • Communicate key observations and account specific opportunities with respective wholesaler management within 48 hours of market visit utilizing established template
      • Plan and execute off-premise samplings at key retailers at a frequency determined by Management
      • Assist in the development and implementation of the Annual Business Plan (ABP), then hold wholesaler and other team members accountable for results vs. ABP
      • Assist in conducting business reviews on a monthly and quarterly basis that analyze achievement versus volume and distribution goals
      • Ensure wholesaler execution against all chain programs and objectives
      • Monitor wholesaler and competitive pricing activities and communicate opportunities utilizing the reporting/tracking tools provided
      • Collaborate with the Management on local sponsorship and special event opportunities and execution

      Job Requirements
      • 2-3+ years of sales experience in Beverage Industry (preferred)
      • Must live within close proximity to the Philadelphia Market
      • Understanding of 3-tier system and exposure to retail account marketing and management (preferred)
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative team environment
      • Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight constraints and still meet all deadlines
      • Creative thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative strategies that increase sales and market share

      Starr Hill Brewery’s Brand Ambassadors strive to spread our world-class beer and fun-loving culture throughout our distribution footprint, crafting great times and creating super fans along the way. Starr Hill Brand Ambassadors are motivated, social individuals who have a passion for craft beer and an outgoing personality. They are responsible for executing promotional events in the trade in evenings and on weekends. Brand Ambassadors educate the public about Starr Hill beers in the on and off premise and will be trained by and report to the Sales Representative for their respective markets. Brand Ambassadors are part-time Starr Hill employees.

      We are looking for Brand Ambassadors in all of our markets, including Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Washington, D.C.

      Pay is hourly and certain expenses will be reimbursed or paid on a corporate credit card.

    • Tap Room - Weekend Host/Hostess

      Starr Hill is seeking a part-time Tap Room Host/Hostess for weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays:

      Saturday 10 AM – 8 PM
      Sunday 11 AM – 6 PM

      Candidates should be organized with strong communication skills and an engaging personality. Ability to multitask is a must.
